Last day of outer space-mtg

Wow, I can't believe that today was the last day of March and the outer space unit.  That went by so fast.

Today, we talked more about space and what we need to go into space-a rocket. We made rockets and then flew them around the room.

We also talked about the solar system and how many stars are in it.

We then made fun galaxy goo.

 Add glue
food coloring-we choose blue
 Add glitter for stars

slowly add liquid starch-I got too much and dumped some out. Mix and have fun.

We then played a game called Trip to the Moon to help us learn (or remember) some colors and shapes.

We reviewed the things that we have learned this month!

Each child took home a card to cut apart (oh, those cutting skills are tricky but important). The cards are to use at home. These are the things we learned this month...Letters R,S,Z number 7,17, shape-star and the color yellow.

Our older class put together a Bilingual book to help us learn a little Spanish and also helps review what we have learned during the month.

We then had fun using the letters of the month to spell words. The children choose a small card (on the top row) and made the word (on the big card) by finding the letter that was missing. We then sounded the words out together.

We are excited for next months theme- Ocean Commotion!
